whateva.
i write these words on notecards
cause i have nothing better
but it's all the same feeling
as i read through your letters
"you're my rushmore"
well you're my waste of time
and you think you're such a nice boy
well boy you think too much
breaking hearts is out of style
but your comprehension lacks in grace
and he's got those tired eyes
"only a mother could love"
well i'm not your mother
but i loved them none the less

so where do i go from here?
i only ever wanted to be the lightning in your veins
so i could brighten your day
but things got cloudy and you ran away
eight is enough.

Wow. Barack Obama is inspiring in a way that my words can't describe. I don't like debating politics or why I am a Democrat because I feel Republicans, just as I have my reasons for supporting Obama, have their reasons for supporting McCain. Obama gives me hope in my country and in politics that I can't say Bush, McCain, or any Republican has ever given me. Do I think Barack can accomplish everything he hopes to achieve? Honestly, no. But to know that he's going to at the very least try and run our country in the way I want it to be run, and try to accomplish the things I believe are important, and to try to fix and improve the mistakes that have been made in the past eight years, well that's good enough for me. Come November 4th, he definitely has my vote.

In other less political news, seriously if I never get to hear anything except this 30 second demo of "America's Sweethearts" by Fall Out Boy, I will murder Pete Wentz. Just sayin'.

I feel really stupid for having a "gut feeling" about something like politics, because that's pretty much oxymoronic. But I'm coming from the same spot you are...I feel like I should still invest some time to research both candidates, even though I know it won't change my perspective...maybe just to help justify my opinion with something other than "I just have a good feeling."

But my vote is going in the same way...oh, and you've been tagged. Obey the game

Rules :
1. Each player of this game starts off with 15 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself.
2. People who get tagged need to write a post of their own 15 weird things/habits/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly.
3. At the end, you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names.
4. No tag backs!!

I, too thought that Obama's speech was quite inspiring. He is such a better speaker than Kerry or Bush; the contrast is incredible. I really appreciated his emphasis on personal responsibility- that you are in control of your own destiny, that government is no replacement for parents (as opposed to "it takes a village" from HRC). I also appreciated his remarks on the unity of the United States, that we should not be red states or blue states, but the United States. I feel like the Democrats have really been on the forefront of division with this red state-blue state nonsense, making that Blue State Coffee store chain, and always harping on "red states" as if they're the backwaters of the world, and this stance is quite refreshing. It really appeals to my deep desire to see my country stop infighting over superficial and ridiculous things.

I'm personally not a democrat, and I disagree with many democratic platforms, but as far as Obama's rhetoric goes, I was impressed. I eagerly await John McCain's reply. I hope this election, between two worthy, eloquent candidates, will be able to restore my interest in politics that was destroyed watching the little petty fighting that characterized as many elections as I can remember.

I was highly impressed by his speech last night, and I never watch political campaigns.
